Mr. Jimmy Charles Hinson of Silsbee, Texas, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019, at his residence, at the age of 71.
Born on June 30, 1948, Jimmy was a lifelong resident of the Silsbee area. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed all games and was a loyal supporter of the Silsbee Tigers. He also enjoyed coaching Little League baseball with his sons' teams. Jimmy also had a great love for camping and fishing.
Jimmy worked several years as a pipefitter through Local #195, which is now Local #211. He retired from Crown Pipe Shop. He was a member of Silsbee's First Baptist Church.
His survivors include his wife, Carolyn Hinson of Silsbee; his son, Kevin Hinson and wife Amanda of Silsbee; daughter, Kim Long and husband Terry of Vidor; grandchildren, Morgan Gibson, Dylan Borowski, Dalton Long, and Kayden Hinson; step-granddaughters, Kiersten Stutts and husband Nick and Michaela Vaughan and husband Scott; great-granddaughter, Loral Mae Vaughn; brothers, Herman Hinson Sr. and wife Mary of Kountze and Wilburn Moncrief and wife Jeannie of Orange; and sisters, Patsy Townsend and Vivica Moncrief, both of Hemphill.
He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Hinson; father, Fred Milton Hinson; mother, Ruby Gertrude Rodgers; sisters, Helen Hinson and Maurine Rodgers; and a brother, Fred Hinson Jr.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2019, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Home Chapel, located at 415 N. Fourth Street in Silsbee.
Funeral services are set for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at Farmer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Carpenter officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery, located on S. Third Street in Silsbee.
Pallbearers: Joe Parks, Jr., Herman Hinson, Jr., Bryant Jones, Michael Hinson, Brian Holland, and Brock Smith.
