Matthew Taylor Smith

Matthew Taylor Smith, 28, of Lumberton passed away Monday December 2, 2019. He was born on January 25, 1991 in Port Arthur, Texas to Mark and Barbie Smith.

Matthew was a native of Silsbee where he attended school and graduated class of 2009. He loved the outdoors and his passion was taking long walks in the woods. Matthew will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Matthew is survived by his loving parents, Mark and Barbie Smith of Lumberton; sisters, Marcy Cole and husband Jason of College Station, Stacy Smith of Beaumont; nieces and nephews, Jacey Cole, Aidan Cole, Gavin Cole, and Sadie Cole, all of College station; Skyler Green, Javier Carter, Jaslyn Carter, Ian Young, Mya Green, and M’Kynzi Smith all of Beaumont; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members and friends.

Matthew is preceded in death by his companion and best friend; his loving dog, Foster.

A memorial service to celebrate Matthew’s life will be held Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 10:30 AM and will be held in the V2 building of Calvary Baptist Church in Beaumont. Visitation will be prior to the service on December 14, 2019 at 9:30 AM.

Services are held under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee.
