Willie Mae (Griffith) Gilson

Wille Mae Gilson, 86, of Silsbee passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.  She passed away at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

Willie was born October 27, 1933 in Spurger to Charlie and Nellie Jeffcoat Griffith.  She was one of eleven children and grew up in Spurger.  Willie was a longtime resident of Silsbee.  Mrs. Gilson retired from Kirby Lumber Company after many years.  She was a member of the Women’s Golf Association and on the board of the Silsbee Country Club.

Willie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 wonderful years, Eugene Joseph Gilson and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her son Grant Harry Gilson; grandchildren Emily Joanne Gilson, Alexander Lee Gilson and Daniel Clark Gilson; sister Charlie Nell Hancock and brother Sammy Lee Griffith and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gilson are 2 PM Sunday at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery in Silsbee.  There will be no public visitation.
