Aaron Lee Altenreid, 71, of Buna passed away Monday June 3, 2024. He was born June 28, 1952, in Borger, Texas to the late Billy James Altenreid and Wanda Hamblen Altenreid.
Aaron attended Old River Baptist in Old River-Winn, Texas for many years. He was drafted and served two years in the United States Army, after the Army he worked as a Machinist at FMC then worked at Home Depot for many years. In his free time, he cherished moments with his family while they, fished, played cards, and listened to his many stories. He took great pride in keeping his yard mowed, saying his lawn mower could do anything. Aaron was a loving husband, father, papaw , and friend who will be so deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by both parents; grandmother, Eugenia Hamblen; uncle, Ray Hamblen.
Aaron is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Alta; children, Amanda Adams and husband Robert of the Woodlands, Chris Altenreid and wife Bonnie of Buna, Robin Monk and husband Bobby of North Zulch, Texas; grandchildren, Alexis Adams, Colton Adams, Kaden Altenreid, Kyler Altenreid, Bobby Monk Jr., Alta Monk, Cody Monk; aunt Novelene Hamblen; and a host of other family members and friends.
