Alex "Sparky" Derriel Balla

Alex Derriel “Sparky” Balla, 82, of Silsbee passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023. He was born on July 10, 1940, in Kountze, Texas to the late Alex Balla Jr. and Edith Flowers Balla.

Alex was a Member of the First United Methodist Church in Silsbee. He was also a 32nd degree mason that was involved in many groups such as Blue Lodge – Neptune 375 life member Aberdeen, Scotland; Houston Scottish Rite Aberdeen Scotland; York Rite life membership; and Eastern Star life member Edinburgh, Scotland. He was also a Shriner. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Alex is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mollie Balla; sons, Alex Dale Balla and wife Emma, Blake Balla and wife Gina; grandchildren, Alex Cole Balla, Amanda Newman and husband Derek, Britney Balla; great grandchildren, Harper and Spencer newman; siblings, Shirley Loftin; Terry Balla and wife Sibyel, Edith Gruber and husband Thomas; and numerous other family members and friends.
