Alice Virginia “Ginny” Howard, 90, of Lumberton, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at her home. She was born on Thursday, January 17, 1935, in Bonham, to Luther and Sally Mae (Rainey) Dearing.
Ginny will be remembered as an excellent cook and homemaker, with a flair for arts and crafts. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers, but the light in her life was her family. She will forever remain a loving wife, mother, and Nanny.
Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Duel “R.D.” Howard, of Lumberton; daughters, Vickie Carney, of Lumberton, and Carol Hargraves, and her husband, Roger, of Buna; son, Wes Howard, and his wife, Sandi, of Lumberton; grandchildren, Wayne Perkins, and his wife, Courtney, Doug Hargraves, and his fiancé, Zuhra Haynes, Alise Mason, and her husband, Chad, Addi Howard, Cole Howard, and Clansi Montes, and her husband, Chris; great grandchildren, Kennedy, Mason, Addison, Christian, Makaila, Aly, Calem, Eden, Wesley and Cooper; and her sister, Rita Henry, of Marshall.
Ginny was preceded in death by her parents; son, Roger Douglas Howard; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters.
