Alice Marie Moss, 64, of Lumberton, passed into the arms of Jesus on March 1, 2026. The family will receive friends from 1 :00- 2:00 PM on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Farmer Funeral Home, with a Funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM that same afternoon. Arrangements are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home.
Alice was born on April 3, 1961, at Hardin Memorial in Hardin County to James "J.B." and Anna Bell Ellison. On May 10, 1978, at the age of 17, she married her husband, Larry Moss. Through the years, their marriage was an example to the world what is meant and the true definition of the words said before God, which stated: "For better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part."
Alice was a loving and dedicated wife and soon she became one of the world's greatest mothers to her son, who was her only child. Alice had a fun sense of humor and would use it to her advantage on April Fool's Day. On this day, every year, she loved to call Mitch and play jokes on him throughout the entire day. Alice would end every visit, message, or phone call with "I love you big, like the moon, stars, and sky." In every way or means possible, she spoiled him rotten and worshipped the ground he walked on.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, James Bevel Ellison and Anna Bell Ellison; one sister, Cheryl Moss; one brother, Bryon Ellison; her mother-in-law, Emma Jane Moss, and her father-in-law, Calvin Moss, whom she adored with all her heart.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Moss of the home; her son, Mitch Moss, and his wife, Jenni, of Lumberton; her grandchildren, Heidi Forkner, Taylor Moss, and Brantlee Moss; her sisters, Debroh Moss and Pauline Smith; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Spurlock; two brother-inlaws, Mike Moss and Porky Moss, and Larry Moss II and his wife Crystal. Survivors also include Mikey Mossa and wife Tasha, Lynn Spurlock and wife Ketrina, and Jason Spurlock and wife Kim; Jaime Moss, Dallas Moss, Landry Moss, Laura Moss, Alexis Moss, Maddie Moss, Zayden Moss, Jeremy and Amanda Boyett, Sam Spurlock, Emma Spurlock, Lynn Spurlock, Skylin Carnaham and husband Chris Carnaham, Jeremy Boyett and Amanda, Mickey Boyett, and Hunter Boyett.
