Anna Mary Davis Gore was born October 8, 1934 in Hattiesburg, MS and she left this life and moved into the arms of Jesus peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Silsbee Oaks Health Care.
Mrs. Gore was a proud graduate of both Lufkin High School and the Texas State College for Women (Texas Woman’s University). She began her teaching career in Port Arthur, TX moved on to Mauriceville, TX and completed her teaching career in Silsbee, TX. She spent many years at Kirby Elementary School teaching first grade and eventually being promoted to the second grade.
She was a faithful member of Pinecrest Baptist Church and faithfully attended until her health no longer permitted.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 53+ years, Kenneth CB Gore; father: Arthur Davis, parents: James and Mary Blanche Clark,; father and mother – in – law: Ashley and Elmer Gore, brothers-in-law: Ernest Allen, Prentice Gore and Brian McCafferty and sisters-in-law: Martha Ann Gore, Evelyn Gore and Ola Allen.
She is survived by her loving daughter Mary Lee Gore of Zwolle, LA; sister Jimmie Beth McCafferty of Lady Lake, FL; brother – in - law Clayton Gore and wife Kay of Fred, TX, two nephews, six nieces and numerous great, great - great and great – great - great nieces and nephews and one cousin. She is also survived by the many folks that she considered her adopted children and grandchildren that she loved as if they were her own flesh and blood.
Honoring Mrs Gore as pallbearers will be: Greg McDonald, Michael Dunlap, Curtis Rogers, Charles Fancher, Matthew Dethlefsen, Mark Dethlefsen, Dwayne Crowell and William Buckley
Officiating her service will be Rev. Fred Raney. The service will be held at Pinecrest Baptist Church, 5660 Hwy 1122, Silsbee, TX.
Visitation will be at Farmer’s Funeral Home, 415 N 4th St, Silsbee, TX Friday, January 22, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with service on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Pinecrest Baptist Church, 5660 Hwy 1122, Silsbee, TX at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Frank’s Branch Community Cemetery, Fred, TX.
