Arlon Chance, 86, of Fred, died on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, in Houston. He was born on Friday, May 27, 1938 in Hemphill to Alfred Burl and Mary Jane (Dubois) Chance.
Arlon retired after over 50 years of proud service, as a Pipeline Welder out of Pipeliners Local #798. He traveled all over the United States during this time. He was a longtime member of Wiley Mae Community Church where he taught Sunday School and was known for his knowledge of the Bible. He also enjoyed fishing, tending to his cows, and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arlon will forever remain a loving husband, father, and Paw Paw.
Survivors include the love of his life, Sally Chance, to whom he was married for 68 years; sons, Aaron Chance, and Chuck Chance, and his wife, Karen; grandchildren, Brianna, Jennifer, Katie, Heather, Kody, Chassity, and Allyn; great-grandchildren, Gionni, Amara, Ty’Kel, Daniel, Andrew, Chloe, Lilly, Ethan, Audrey, Alli, Chance, Walker, Ray , and AJ; as well as numerous other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Darrell and Wade Chance; grandson, Jeremy Chance; and 2 sisters, and 4 brothers.
