Arthur Delaune Obituary

Arthur "Art" George Delaune, 88, formerly of Silsbee, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 after a long battle with congestive heart failure. He was born in Chance-Lobe, Texas on August 30, 1932 to the late George Delaune and Gladys (Guillott) Delaune.

We honor the sacrifice made by Art to our great Nation as he faithfully served in the United States Navy.  Art loved the game of basketball; having attended over 41 straight Texas State high school basketball tournaments and over 50 tournaments total throughout his life.  He retired from DuPont in Beaumont as a Safety Trainer after thirty-two years. Art was a loving and devoted husband and eventual caregiver to his wife until her passing.

Art is survived by his daughter, Deana Payne; his son, Paul Delaune; his daughter, Angela Childress; his daughter, Elana Daigle; his many grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with numerous other family members and dear friends, including A.J. Daigle and Jack Jordan.

Art is preceded in death by his wife Mary Agnes (Barclay) Delaune; his parents, George and Gladys Delaune; his sister, Jackie (Delaune) Griffith; his brother, Bradley Delaune; and his grandson, Rayce Bradley Morgan.

The family wants to give a special thanks to Home Care Elite of Nederland for the special care giving over the past years.

A graveside service will be held at 11am, Thursday January 7, 2021 at R.S. Farmer Cemetery in Silsbee, Texas with a time of visitation an hour prior at the Cemetery.
