Arthur Payne Obituary

Arthur was born in Hemphill, Texas on August 21, 1947, and was a resident of Silsbee, Texas for over 40 years. He will be laid to rest at R.S. Memorial Cemetery in Silsbee on Thursday June 25, 2020. On June 30, 1970 he was married to Anna Lou Soileau and enjoyed 47 beautiful years together. He loved his time with Anna being an amazing husband, father, and raising their children together. Often, he could be found working in his garden, tending to his fruit trees, and the various array of farm animals. He worked as an automotive paint and body technician for many years and was no stranger to a hard day’s work but never complained about doing what needed to be done to provide for his family. It was a profession he loved doing and anyone that knew him well had heard the stories about some of the beautiful paint jobs he had done over the years. At the age of Fifty he was saved and baptized and began a great relationship with his Lord and savior Jesus. He served in ministry for several years and many were blessed by his obedience to God. He loved sharing his testimony of all God had done for him in his life and will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Preceded in death by his wife Anna Lou Payne, his father James Edger Payne and mother Bertha Lee Chance Payne, brother Elvia Payne, sister Onia B Grey, brother Wayne Alvis Payne, and grandson Michael Harvey.

Survived by his daughter: Angela Charlene and husband Jimmy Andrews of Silsbee, sons,  Bobby Lee Payne and wife Rebecca Payne of Silsbee, and Charles Arthur Payne and  wife Brittany Payne of Silsbee; grandchildren,  Steven Monday, Mathew Monday, Brandon Payne and wife Haylee, Taylor Payne and her fiancée Kade Morgan, and Brianna Payne; a great granddaughter, Hadley Joanna Payne; a brother, Esker Lee Payne and wife Vada Payne of Silsbee; and a sister in law, Dorthey Payne.
