Bluett Charles Smith Jr. (“BC” or “Charles”) of Silsbee, TX, peacefully passed away while surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, April 17, 2025. Born on December 2, 1940, in Call, TX, to Clora and Bluett Charles Smith.
BC was the proud father of Rodney Laurent and Rene Smith Murphy. He was the extremely proud grandfather of Kambrie Laurent Condit and Aiden and Jackson Murphy.
BC retired from owning and operating Modica Bros. Tire & Wheel Center in Woodville, TX, in 2008 and has since spent most of his time outdoors with family and friends hunting, fishing, talking about hunting and fishing at Plum Ridge, working in the yard, or visiting in his ‘Coffee Shop’. BC lived an active life for 84 years.
Preceded in death by his parents, Clora and Bluett; his brother and sister-in-law, Reuben and Birdie McClendon; sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Linton Foux, and his wife Sandra Ferguson Smith.
BC is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Lisa Laurent; his daughter and son- in-law, Rene and Pat Murphy; his grandchildren Kambrie, Aiden and Jackson, as well as a host
of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Farmer Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 22, at 10 am with the service immediacy following. Internment will be at RS Farmer Memorial Cemetery.
