Barbara Young Carrier Lackey, 80, of Cleburne, Texas passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023. She was born May 1, 1943 in Beaumont, Texas to the late Clarence Young and Zora Jessie Pearl Cross.
Barbara worked as a store associate at Walmart for many years. When she was not at work, she spent her time in the kitchen baking or making her mayhaw jelly and various other desserts. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, putting together puzzles, playing card games, and dominoes. Another past time she enjoyed was gardening. Barbara attended Burleson Church of the Nazarene and always believed life to be better with Jesus. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents; brothers, Gene Herman Young, Robert “Pat” Young, James Henry "Brigham" Young; sister, Martha Jane Young Ward.
Barbara is survived by her children, Tena Luna and husband Joel of Rossville, Tennessee, Melinda Hall and her husband Monty of Burleson, Texas, Johnny Carrier of Woodville, Texas; grandchildren, Joey Luna, Rawley Hall and Tori Langley, Jacob Luna and his wife Lauren, Bailey Coker and her husband Steven; great grandchildren, Lainey Coker, Ruthie Luna, Halle Coker; brother, Jack Young of Silsbee, Texas; sister, Audrey Mae Young of Lumberton, Texas; and a host of other family members and friends.
