Barbara McCarty, beloved mother, grandmother, and dedicated nurse, peacefully passed away at the home she had cherished since moving to Silsbee in 1968. Throughout her 98 years, she raised nine children and played an instrumental role in the upbringing of many of her children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Barbara had a distinguished career as an R.N. charge nurse in Labor and Delivery at St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she served with compassion and expertise until her retirement. She was also a faithful and active member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, where her dedication to the community was honored with the Diocesan Stewardship Award.
Barbara’s legacy of kindness, faith, and devotion to her family will forever be remembered.
She is survived by six children: Daughter, Elizabeth Ann Robinsons and Sons, William Joseph McCarty, Michael Lee McCarty, John Lawrence McCarty, Ronald Lewis McCarty and Christopher James McCarty.
