Betty Lucille Odom, 75, of Fred, Texas, passed away Friday, February 9, 2024, at her residence.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee, Texas. Burial will follow at Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger, Texas.
Betty was born July 24, 1948, to Lois and Oddis Odom in Fred, Texas. She was raised in a large family, being one of 14 children. Betty served our country in the United States National Guard and retired from the IRS as a clerk. She enjoyed quilting, dancing, singing, playing pool and giving everyone a hard time.
Betty is survived by her ex-husband and friend, Mike Key; best friend, Dianne Odom; sons, James Bradord Kimbrell, Robert Scott Kimbrell, Shaun Patrick Kimbrell and his wife, Melissa, Michael Spell, Sr., Debra McNeel, Terry Spell, Sr., Troy Key and his wife, Nerissa; daughter, Heather Hornbuckle and her husband, Jeff; sisters, Shirley Idammons, Barbara Clowers, Thelma Joyce Strother and Linda McGown; brothers, Glynn Odom and wife, Dianne and Jerry Odom; grandchildren, Heather Cherie Kimbrell, Brittany Nicole Kimbrell, Brooke Lindsay Slaughter, Mason Foss, Morgan Kimbrell, Austin Kimbrell, Jimmy Paul, Marissa Meissner, Danielle Gabbard, Candice Paul, Ethan Allen Kimbrell, James Aiden Kimbrell, Olivia Key, Addison Key and many more grandchildren; she is also survived by great grandchildren, Kade Paul, Connor Paul, Reed Paul, Payton Meissner, Jayden Meissner, Michael Lee Serrant, Felix Wayne Serrant, Gabriel Eldridge, Azrael Eldridge, Lillian Eldridge, Jackson Daniel Holly, Marleyana Rayne Peterson, Kian Lee Sedinam Abadjivor, Kamasi Lin Maurine Kimbrell, Phillip Michael Shaffer II, Remington Opal Slaughter, Robbi Michelle Slaughter, Patrick Alan Slaughter and many more.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois and Oddis Odom; sons, Daron “Peanut” Piazza, Ronnie Eldridge; daughter, Brittnie Lane Eldridge Adaway; sisters, Nelma Offield and Jackie Strother; brothers, Wilburn Lee Odom, Chester Odom, Thomas Odom, Esear Odom and Charles Odom.
Services are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee, Texas.
