Bettye Jo Gamblin (Turner), 87, of Lumberton, died Thursday, June 6, 2024 in McAllen, Texas. She was born in Poteet, Texas on Wednesday, December 2, 1936 to James Franklin and Minnie Irene (Bowan) Turner.
Bettye was a bookkeeper for many years and a longtime member of Candlestick Baptist Church, in Lumberton. She will be remembered for her love of playing the piano and the joy it brought her in her later years. Bettye will forever remain a loving wife, mother, and granny.
Survivors include her daughter; Carol Jordan, and her husband, James; son, James Curtis Gamblin Jr., and his wife, Ann; grandchildren, Jayme Lunsford, and her husband, Perry; Meghan Davis, and her husband, Cory; Nicholas Lombardo; and George Kate Mustard, and her husband, Andrew. Great-grandchildren, Emma, Holley, Cole, Jordan, Brynn, Jase, Cali, Grady, Boe, and Charlie. She is preceded in death by her husband, of over 50 years, Curtis Gamblin; and her sisters, Francis Halespeska and Dorothy Page.
Mrs. Gamblin’s graveside service will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Haven of Rest Cemetery 13851 US-90, Beaumont, Texas 77713. Arrangements are entrusted to Farmer Funeral Home 415 N. 4th Street Silsbee, Texas 77656
