Billie Louise (Oliver) Murphy

 Billie Louise Murphy, 91, passed away August 17, 2020 and she now is with Jesus and her husband Lavon.
Billie was born August 13, 1929 in Hemphill, TX to Arthur Lee and Katherine Doyen Oliver.  She was the oldest of seven children.  Billie retired after years of service as Activity Director in an area nursing home where she gained a reputation as an advocate for patients.  She used that platform to lead collaborative efforts with other directors in supporting additional education in the field.
Mrs. Murphy is survived by her daughters Kathryn Zech and husband Bill, Evaughn Drake and husband Travis, and Devona Carpenter and husband Joe; sons Arlis "Buck" Murphy and wife Tracy, and Allan "Red" Murphy and wife Linda. and sister Chris "Sally" Pugh-Patrick. She also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, and a legacy of love and support for all her family.

Funeral services for Mrs. Murphy will be 3 Pm Friday, August 21, 2020 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in R S Farmer Memorial Cemetery.  Visitaiton will be 5 - 7 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
