Billy "Wild Bill" Walter Odom, 81, of Vidor passed away Wednesday February 5, 2020. He was born July 23, 1938 in Tyler County, Texas to the late Walter Bernice Odom and Frances Opal Bell-Odom.
Billy spent his entire career in the Oil Industry. He worked for various companies throughout the years. He loved cows, dogs, and even spent some time beekeeping, but Billy's passion was working cattle. He enjoyed that more than anything.
"Wild Bill", "Bud" and "Bumblebee", are just a few of many names you could call that Billy would answer to. He was also everyone's Daddy and Papaw. His children and grandchildren's friends quickly adopted Daddy Odom as their own and they all loved him dearly. Billy was so loved by everyone he knew, in fact, several people actually decided to name their children after him. Everyone that knew and met Billy Odom loved him instantly. He was a wonderful husband to his wife of 55 years, father to his four children, PaPaw to his grandchildren, and a friend to many.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Era Jane Odom; his children, LeAnna Martinez and husband Bubba, Robbin Williams and husband Joe, Jody Odom and wife Wanda, Scott Odom and wife Rhonda; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends that will miss him dearly.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nellie.
Funeral services will be held in the Farmer Funeral Home Chapel Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 2PM. A gathering of Billy's family and friends will be held Saturday night February 8, 2020 from 5-9PM. Burial will be at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred.
Services are held under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home.
