Carol Elizabeth (Richard) Kennedy

Carol Elizabeth Kennedy aka “Nanny”, 82, of Silsbee went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, July 01, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Carol was born Saturday, December 25, 1943, in Silsbee, Texas to Harold V. Richard and Rena Mary (Tribes) Richard.

She found joy in the simple pleasure of life and loved spending time with her family, going to church, sewing, gardening, canning, making homemade jellies, and fishing. Also, she loved watching her hummingbirds.  These cherished hobbies reflected hardworking spirit, creativity, and a love of caring for her family.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Edward Kennedy; her parents; her sisters, Patsy Deshotel; brother-n-law, Francis Deshotel; Eva Coute; and brother, Robert Richard.

Survivors include daughter; Teresa Barbay and her husband Buddy; grandchildren; Clayton Barbay and his wife Morgan, Jonathan Barbay, and Stephen Barbay, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
