Charles "Chuck" Lewis Jr.

Charles “Chuck” Lewis, Jr., 77, of Kountze, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born October 25, 1947, in Doucette, Texas, to Charles Velton Lewis Sr. and Frances Mae Thompson Lewis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 55 years, Dianne Lewis, and his granddaughter, Sunni Maddox.

Charles is survived by his girlfriend, Betty Bullock, of Sour Lake; his children, Clint Lewis Sr., of Kountze; Greg Lewis, of Santa Fe; Sharla Taylor, of Groves; and Scott Lewis, and his wife, Tara, of Mount Belvieu. Grandchildren, Clint Lewis Jr., Courtney Morris, MaKayla Bean, Calyb Lewis, Gregory “Jake” Walker, Keely Taylor, Mason Lewis, and Tanner Lewis; 20 Great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Siblings, Marion Lewis, and his wife, Diane, of Warren; Lonzo Lewis, and his wife, Kim, of Woodville; Earline Waldrep, and her husband, Steve, of Ivanhoe, and Glenn Lewis, and his wife, Sharon, of Kountze.

Charles was an active member of Happy Valley Church, where he served on the praise team. He was a proud United States Army Veteran. Charles was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 12 and 450. Charles was a Past Master of both Nederland Lodge #1368 and Saratoga Lodge #914, as well as a current member of Pine Lodge #642, in Kountze, and Cosmopolitan Lodge #872, in Port Arthur. He was, and will forever remain a loving father, Pawpaw, brother, and friend.

Charles enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, hunting, fishing, playing dominoes, playing guitar, and singing southern country gospel music.
