Cherry Ann Moss

Cherry Ann Moss, 89, of Evadale passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023. She was born on July 14, 1934 in Fred, Texas to the late William Earl Morris and Jenni Louise (McCurdy) Morris.

Cherry was a member of Evadale Church of Christ. She enjoyed many hobbies such as cooking, gardening, attending church, playing card games, and camping. Cherry cherished her family and was a beloved matriarch that supplied many years of love and wisdom to those in her life. In Cherry’s words, “Say your prayers and wash your hands!” She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by both parents; her mother, Stella Mae (Odom) Morris; husbands, Raymond David Luther Moss of 48 years, James Cecil Ferguson of 7 years; son, James Earl Moss; and companion, Tevis Whitmire.

Cherry is survived by her daughter, Lana Hoke and husband Clyde of Evadale; son, Rusty Moss and wife Lisa of Huntsville; grandchildren, Jackie Whitehead and husband Bruce, Keith Hoke and wife Chelsea, Rusty Moss and wife Susan, Jennifer Arko and husband Tommy; great grandchildren, Coahlton, Crystal, Tyler, Landan, Jaxon, Addilynn, Graisyn, Seven, Max; great great grandchildren, Chandler, Nora-Jaye, Emma; and numerous other family members and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to the staff at Silsbee Oaks Healthcare for the dedicated care they gave to Cherry.
