Chris Roberts Obituary

Chris Roberts, 53, of Silsbee passed away December 28, 2021 in Beaumont.  He was born in Houston November 19, 1968 to Larry Russell Roberts and Maria Lydia Rosales Roberts.

In his early 20’s, Chris proudly served his country in the US Air Force and later in the Air Force Reserves.  During his time in the service, Chris earned several technical certificates that fulfilled his passion for everything electronic. He also earned his Bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of South Alabama.

Chris was a long time resident of the Houston area, with most of his life there living in the Houston suburb of Atascocita. During that time, Chris worked as a technical engineer for Hess Oil and IBM. Away from work, Chris loved to create music.  He was a long-time DJ and was celebrated throughout the Southeast. Chris was also quite the artist, who loved to create watercolor paintings. In his spare time, however minimal that was, you could find him enjoying roller coasters, and anything to do with Star Wars.

After moving to Silsbee, Chris worked as an engineer for KFDM-TV Channel 6 in Beaumont for the past five years.  As in his personal life, people who were fortunate to work with him will tell you that he was always eager to help to resolve issues – especially when it came to technology. Anyone who benefitted from Chris’s help in resolving a problem would tell you: “that guy can fix anything!”

During his personal time, Chris really took to maintaining household challenges and repairs, relying on his never-ending determination to “make things right.” He never found a problem he would not tackle.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his partner and husband of 22 years, W Marc Paine of Silsbee; son Devon Roberts of Huntington Beach, CA. and brother Matthew Roberts & his wife Jennifer Roberts of Cabot, AR.

A celebration of Chris’s amazing life will be announced at a later date.
