Clarence Steve Carnley

August 1, 1947 ~ May 19, 2022 (age 74)

Clarence Steven Carnley “Steve”, 74, of Sour Lake passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

He was born on August 1, 1947 at 9:05 pm to Archie N. Carnley and Jessie D. Jones Carnley of Silsbee.

Steve was an avid hunter and fisherman who was always up for an adventure and sometimes even a little mischief. He especially loved elk hunting in Colorado with close friends and family and fishing in a creek somewhere. He was also a lover of travel.

His life was lived to the fullest and his love for his children and grandchildren was unsurpassed.

Steve is preceded in death by his father Archie, mother Jessie, brothers Gene and Ray Carnley, J.N. and Paul Lucas, sisters Barbara Chambliss, Jerrie McGallion, Dorothy McBryde, Pat Wright and Carolyn Roy, and grand-daughter Kari Carnley.

He is survived by his son Stephen Carnley and wife Susan of Warren, daughters Stephanie Gentry and Tonya Carnley of Lumberton, Courtney Perkins and husband Wayne of Sour Lake, his brother James Carnley and wife Shirley of Oregon, sisters Gloria Dailey of China and Doylene Peterson and husband Charles of Cleveland. Grandchildren Christopher Johnson, Scott Carnley, Lance Wright, Chase Breaux, Brandon Gentry, Alan Metcalf, Blake Carnley, and Addison Perkins. Great-grandchildren Lyndsi, Lana, River, Everson, Emery, and Greyson. And countless nieces and nephews.
