Coleta Willis

Claudia Coleta Willis, age 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 24, 2026, at Spanish Trail Assisted Living in Silsbee, Texas. She was born on March 25, 1937, in Montgomery, Alabama.

Coleta was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose life centered around her family. She worked as a bookkeeper and took great pride in raising her four children, instilling in them the values of love, strength, and togetherness.

She is survived by her sons, Chip Willis and his wife Melody, and David Willis; her daughter, Rita Garcia and her husband Shawn; her daughter-in-law, Pam Willis; and her brother, JD Murphy and his wife Sandy. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Willis; her son Jimmy Willis; her mother, Nadine Murphy; and her father, Curtis Murphy.

Coleta was a proud grandmother to Amber Anderson, April Lavergne, Charles Willis, Amy Willis, Amanda Cornett, Allison Botten, Chad Willis, Jennifer Garcia, Chris Willis, Montana Garcia, and Colby Johnson, all of whom she loved dearly, as well as 21 great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her love of cooking, and the joy she found in camping trips with family and friends. Coleta created a lifetime of cherished memories and leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through generations.

A private graveside service will be held by the family, with a public service to be announced at a later date.

Claudia Coleta Willis will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
