Connie Lorena (Carter) Carrier

Connie Lorena Carrier, 81, of Silsbee passed away January 18, 2023. She was born October 23, 1941, in Port Arthur to the late John Patrick Carter and Reba Salling Callaway.

Connie was the oldest of six children; she worked as a gate guard at Kirby Lumber for many years and worked in fast food as well to proudly support her three children; she was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to spend her spare time in the garden or out fishing.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Carter and Reba Salling Calaway; husband Louis Carrier; grandson Marvin Edward Foster III; granddaughter Kimberley Hilgemeier Smith.

She is survived by her three children, Karen Fregia and husband Jerry of Honey Island, John Smith and wife Lisa of Lumberton, Nick Smith and wife Lamesa of Silsbee; grandchildren, Carol Martin and husband Mike, Buck Fregia, Jason Fregia and wife Erin, Amanda Shane and husband Pete, Josh Smith and wife Winter, Jason Smith, Bryan Smith and wife Krysten, Jennifer Welker and husband Bryan, Shandy Fowler and husband Hardie; eight-teen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Carolyn Youngblood, Jean Goodhue; brothers, Joseph Carter, Tommy Callaway, Jackie Carter; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Millcreek Rehab, Hospice Care Team, especially Shelby.

Connie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.  

Cremation services will be held under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home.
