Cordie Lee (Odom) Delcambre

Cordie Lee Delcambre “Maw Maw”, passed away September 26, 2021.  She was born in Honey Island TX January 14, 1932 to Willie and Eunice Odom.  

Mrs. Delcambre is preceded in death by her parents; sister Helen Tolar; brothers Leon  Odom and Edward Odom; step brother Franklin and step sister Lillian.

She is survived by her children Mary Gwen Benson, Glenn and Brenda Delcambre, Larry and Kathy Delcambre, Shari and Tom O'Kane and Daren Delcambre; siblings Kathrine Johnson, Betty & Gerald Gilchriest, June and David Cabiness, Don and Linda Odom, Teddy and Carla Odom and Phyllis and Tom Willis.  Also surviving Cordie are eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great, great grandchile.

How do you describe our mom,Cordie? First, of all she loved to laugh and make others laugh as well. She could be so ornery one minute then picking at you the next. Honestly, nothing brought her more joy than being with her family making as many memories as possible. She was very passionate and you had to listen to her opinion, like it or not. Cordie was the best mother, grandmother, sister and friend. We truly have to admit her first love was not us as her earthly family, but her Heavenly Father. She read her Bible faithfully and listened to many preachers daily. She had a favorite scripture which was “ Be still and know that I am God” Psalms 46:10. We can all consider ourselves blessed for being a part of her life and she will be missed greatly.
