Danny Lynn Anderson, 69, of Silsbee passed away Monday, May 4, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. He was born in Pineland, Texas to the late James (Pete) Perry Anderson and Lydia Lakey Anderson.
Danny proudly served in the US Army for two years in Korea during the Vietnam War. He married his beautiful wife, Ruth June 6, 1970 and they had three children, Judy Lewis, Lydia Johnston and Danny Jr. He enjoyed spending time with his family hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers, playing poker, and watching westerns. Mr. Anderson had many jobs over the years in the oilfield, shipyards, refineries, and sawmills.
He is preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Addie Mae Garner; brother-in-law Lloyd Thompson; nephews, Kevin Duhon and Mitch Pierce; and sisters-in-law, Venus Anderson, Caroline Pearson, and Melissa Ford.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Ruth Anderson of Silsbee; children Judy Lewis and husband Cody of Warren, Lydia Johnston and husband Daryl of Silsbee, and Danny Anderson Jr. and wife Melissa of Lumberton; grandchildren, Haleah Forsyth and husband Caleb of Warren, Tyler Lewis and wife Emily of Warren, Lindsey and Timmothy of Silsbee, Dylan Courtney of Woodville, Daryl Wayne Johnston Jr. of Silsbee, and Danny Lynn Anderson III of Lumberton; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lael Anderson of Bronson, Perry Anderson and wife Sue of Fred, Jerry Anderson and wife Barbara of Duncan OK and Edward Anderson and wife Terri of Buna; sisters Jimmie Smith and husband Curtis of Fred, Gwen Thompson of Silsbee, and Sally Edwards and husband Ricky of Pawnee OK; sister-in-law Patsy Mercer and husband Ken of Honey Island, and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Serving as pallbearers will be Virgil Eason, Anthony McGallion. Charlie Pierce, James Anderson, and Dylan Sampson.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 8, 2020 at 10 AM at Farmer Funeral Home with burial following at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9-10 AM.
Services are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home.
