David Wayne Fling

David Wayne Fling, 55, of Evadale passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born Thursday, January 8, 1970, to Jerry Rex Fling and Johnnie Leach.

David worked as a juvenile correctional officer, but in his free time you would find him, at the deer lease, BBQing for his family and friends, sitting around a good fire, or floating the river. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Rex Fling, and grandparents Buck and Dessie Fling.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 6 years, Ashley; his sons, Cord Fling and his wife Shelby and Parker Fling; grandson, Coulter; his mother Johnnie; his chosen brother Bubba Whitmire; and a host of other family members and friends.

A memorial service for David will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Farmer Funeral home, followed by a celebration of life to begin at 5:00pm at 2456 FM 1131 in Silsbee.
