David Eugene Griffis Sr.

David Eugene Griffis Sr., 77, of Silsbee, died Monday, July 14, 2025. He was born on Saturday, December 6, 1947, in Buna, to Nealy and Estelle (May) Griffis.

David was a welder in the petroleum industry for over 35 years and worked all over the world. He loved mowing grass, gambling, and trips to the casino, as well as scratching lottery tickets. He will forever remain a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and Paw Paw.

Survivors include his daughters, Angela Winfree, Sandra Griffis, and Brandi Swearingen; sons, David Michael Griffis, Mike Griffis, Mark Griffis, and David Eugne Griffis Jr., and his wife, Sarah; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Howard Griffis, and his wife, Shirley; sisters, Averine Griffis Pennington, and her husband, Larry, and Barbara Griffis Elliott Turner, and her husband, Edward; as well as numerous other loving family members and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of over 43 years, Carolyn Griffis; granddaughter, Destiny Griffis; and numerous brothers and sisters.
