Devon Willis Obituary

Devon D’Marc Willis, 20, passed away, Sunday, June 21, 2020. He was born March 2, 2000 in Port Arthur Texas to Brandie Rhodes Coleman and Danny Willis.

As a child, Devon attended Church at Church on the Rock North in Beaumont. As a young man he attended Fellowship Church in Antioch California. Even at the very young age of 20 Devon had experienced a lot. Devon experienced victory, which if you knew Devon, elated him beyond measures. He experienced defeat, which again if you knew Devon, he despised more than anything. Devon experienced love, and it was true and deep. Devon loved football, Analiese and Devon. Devon was fiercely loyal to his family and friends and those in his circle knew he would always have their back. His smile was infectious and radiant and the dimples were infinite.  He presented a very tough exterior, but on the inside he was extremely tender hearted and passionate about things that mattered most to him. With the sparkle in his eyes for life, he had a determined spirit and planned to attend DVC this fall to play football and further his education.

Devon is survived by his Mother, Brandie Coleman husband Larry of Lathrop, California;  Father, Danny Willis of Port Arthur; Devon’s girlfriend, Analiese Almgren of Discovery Bay, California; brothers, Timothy Rhodes of Colorado, Nik Coleman of Tennessee; Sisters, Destiny Willis of Beaumont, Dani Willis of Port Arthur, Ravin Bentley and husband Brian of Fresno, Shelbie Coleman and husband Lyndell of Houston, Danielle McFerren and husband Elgin of Houston; aunt, Amber Smith and husband George of Vidor, grandparents, Tommy and Darlene Rhodes of Town Bluff; grandmother, Beverly White; aunts and uncles, Edward Willis III, Rodney Willis, Beverly Lawrence, Kathy Willis, Ardina Barabin and husband David; and numerous other cousins,  family members, and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Timothy Rhodes, Trent Ebarb, Mason Sikes, Marc Hafford, Kelby Meyers, and Kade Meyers.

Honorary pallbearers will be George Smith, Chris Delk, Alexander Delk, Demarcus Lawrence, Edward Willis, Brandon Willis, Matthew Willis, Jermaine Willis, Coy Green, and Trejon Hawkins.

Funeral service will be held at Farmer Funeral Home Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 2PM. Burial will follow at Fred Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5-8PM.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8.
