Donald Lynn Strickland was born November 6, 1944, in Silsbee, TX and passed away September 24, 2025, in Silsbee, TX. Don was a retired teacher who had spent most of his career teaching in Eagle Pass and Karnes City, TX. He also was an avid reader and lover of coffee who spent a lot of time at the bookstores. He loved traveling throughout the U.S., often with his parents, to places known for their scenic beauty. Don enjoyed music, especially Bluegrass, and frequently attended festivals in Mountain View Arkansas and Triple Creek in Woodville, TX. He played the dulcimer and other stringed instruments. He is preceded in death by his parents James Harold and Edith Lela (McKinney) Strickland. Don is survived by his brother, Leland Strickland; his uncle, Robert Wedgeworth; aunt and uncle Jan and Pete McKinney, and numerous other relatives. The family would like to extend a special thanks to: Stacy and Greg McKinney, Katrina and Kenitra Powell, Lisa Cooper, Luz Cordero, and Barbara Lewis for their love and care they all provided for Don.
