Doris Marie Hooks

Doris Marie Hooks, 81, of Spurger passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022. She was born on March 6, 1941 in Iota, Louisiana to the late Oveal Deshotel and Alice Trahan Deshotel.

Doris had a way of connecting deeply with everyone she met. She had a loving and friendly manner that radiated to all who came in contact with; her friends and family alike. She was a loving mother and grandmother and most importantly, a great friend to all. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; George Hooks, four sisters; and five brothers.

Doris is survived by her daughters, Katrina Walston and husband Jack of Spurger, Cherie Saulsbury and husband Wesley of Beaumont, Dwight “Bubba” Hooks and wife Pam of Fred; grandchildren, Matthew Hooks, Faith Irvin and husband Chris, Mitchel Hooks and wife Allie, Nathan Hooks, Abbie Hooks, Kess Johnson and husband Garrett, Hope Walston, Jessie Hooks, Eric McManus and wife Lauren, Rashel Carter and husband John; great grandchildren, Easton Irvin, Riggs Johnson, Preston Hooks, Josephine Hooks, Ryder McManus, Owen McManus, Kasey McManus, Emitt Carter, Laykin Carter; and numerous other family members and friends.
