Dorothy Lee (Nelms) Dixon

Dorothy Lee Nelms Dixon was born on June 5, 1931 in Gandy, Louisiana to Floyd and Agnes Nelms. Dorothy went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at the age of ninety surrounded by her loving family. She was a loving wife, mother, MawMaw, sister, and friend.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, three sisters, and her beloved husband of twenty years, Charles Robert Dixon I.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Charles Robert “Bobby” Dixon II and wife Tina of Silsbee, Donnella Dixon Allen and husband Billy of Lumberton; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Bo, Lauren, Cleve, and Hannah; twelve great grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.

Dot loved to serve her Lord and lived to share her testimony. She was very active in her “second home’, Good Shepherd Baptist Church. She spent many years teaching the word of God to children and caring for the babies in the nursery. She lived life to the fullest and never met a stranger. Her greatest attribute was selflessly giving to others.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM Friday, May 13, 2022 at Farmer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Cunningham Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
