Douglas August Miranda, 75, of Fred passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022. He was born on January 30, 1947 to the late August Gus Miranda and Elveda Miranda.
Doug graduated South Houston High School in 1965. He then furthered his education by attending San Jacinto Jr. College in Pasadena and Lee College in Baytown earning his certificates of completion in Supervisor and Manager courses and Applied Science Manager courses. Doug also completed the Local 211 Pipefitters Apprenticeship graduating in May of 1974. He was a veteran of The United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War from 1966 through 1968. He was honorably discharged in 1970. Doug was also a member of the Lone-Star Trail Riders in Silsbee and the Fred Volunteer Fire Department. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dee Lloyd, David Miranda, and Tommy Miranda.
Douglas is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Gail Miranda; daughters, Theresa Wester and husband Greg, Rebecca Brown and husband David; stepson, Jay Harrison, Jr. and wife Ann Marie; grandchildren, Madyson Wester, Macie Gayle Miranda, Brandon Harrison, Alyssa Harrison, Anthony Harrison, Frankie Harrison, and Baby Jay Harrison; dog children, Peanut (aka Baby Girl), Boomerang (aka Boomer), Miles; and numerous other family members and friends.
