Douglas Leon Moore, 80, of Fred passed away in Beaumont, Sunday, March 16, 2025. He was born, Friday March 9, 1945, in Fred, to the late Henry Allen Moore and Gertie Yawn Moore.
Douglas retired from Borden Milk Company and then went to work as a commercial contractor. He was a member and deacon at Mount Nebo Church. Over the years he proudly served in his community working and supporting the Tyler County fair, the Fred 4-H club and the Fred Volunteer fire department. Douglas enjoyed hunting and fishing, working on old tractors and driving his team of mules on trailrides. He planted a garden every year and happily supplied purple hull peas to his family and friends. In his later years, Douglas enjoyed spending time visiting with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by, both parents; brothers, Elbert Moore, Pervis Moore, and Doyle Moore; sisters, Faye Babin, Joyce LaBin, and Iris Myers.
Those left to cherish his memory include, his loving wife of 59 years, Carolyn Ann Moore; children, Robin Baker and husband Edward, Bubba Moore and wife Leah, David Moore and wife Konnie, Chris Moore and fiancé Amanda Ellis; grandchildren, Tabitha Livingston and husband Robert, Randa Mason and husband Scott, Mindy Herrington and husband Tate, Trent Moore, Chelsie Moore, Kamron Gilchriest and husband Landon, Justin Rosner, Lacy Moore, Jacob Moore, and Colton Moore; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Lester Moore and wife Elaine, and Derrell Moore and wife Joyce; and a host of other family members and friends.
