Ellia Elizabeth (Garay) Sutherland

Ellia Elizabeth Garay Sutherland,72, of Eldridge Ville, Toledo passed away January 30, 2025. She was born August 9, 1952, in Toledo, Belize to the late Joseph Garay and Helen Duncan Garay.

Ellia was known as mommy to everyone who knew her. She was very active in her church and taught at Forest Home Methodist School for 45 years teaching three generations. Ellia was a loving, mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Helen Garay; husband Clifton Sutherland Sr.; brother, Winston Duncan Sr.; sisters, Helen Ann Garay, Idorene Parham; sisters-in-law, Exine Duncan, Elizabeth Duncan, Evangeline Sutherland; brothers-in-law, Hubert Ramclam, Morton Gabb Sr., Jarrette Sutherland.

She is survived by her sons, Clifton Sutherland Jr. and wife Kristin and Tyron Sutherland and wife Arceli; grandchildren, Tyron (Thomas) Sutherland Jr., and Samantha Sutherland; brothers, Gerald Williams, James, Charles, Oliver, and Albert Garay; sisters-in-law; Idorene Williams, Carol, Isabella, and Nora Garay, Dorna Guy, Josephine Sutherland, Gilda Zabinski, Bernice Bagg, Inez Sutherland, Leticia Sutherland, and Carol Bracket; sisters, Joyce, Louise, and Gloria Williams, Roselyn Tingling, Marian Ramclam; brothers-in-law, Simon Williams, Lloyd Tingling Sr., Talbert Bracket Sr., Benjamin Sutherland Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, and God children, friends and church family.

Her love for her family and friends existed all the way to her last breath.
