Evan "Buz" Rene Lemons

Evan Rene “Buz” Lemons Jr., 76, of Silsbee passed away Friday, September 8, 2023. He was born on January 26, 1947 in Kirbyville, Texas to the late Evan Rene Lemons Sr. and Norma Lee Albritton Lemons.

Buz was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served in the "No Slack" 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment of of the 101st Airborne. He was awarded  two Army Commendation Medals, an Air Medal, and a Bronze Star Medal for heroic or meritous achievements in combat. He was awarded a Purple Heart on two separate occasions for injuries he sustained while serving in Vietnam. He retired from the paper mill in Evadale where he worked as a welder for over 40 years. He enjoyed motorcycles and old vintage cars and was a member of the 5th Street Cruisers in Silsbee. Buz was a loving partner, father, Pawpaw, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by both parents.

Buz is survived by his sons, Derek Lemons and wife Erin, Brandon Lemons, John Lemons and wife Angelia; fiancée, Nancy Turner Brockway; grandchildren, Thora Mason-Lemons, Jonas Lemons, Jayde Lemons, Harleigh Lemons; brother, Bruce Lemons and wife Belinda; sister, Linda Eliot and husband Larry; and numerous other family members and friends.
