Evangeline H (Schultz) Irving

Evangeline H. Irving, 92, of Lumberton passed away Friday, April 7, 2023. She was born on July 10, 1930, in Mankato, Minnesota to the late William Schultz and Ida Recker.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Julian Irving Sr.

She is survived by her four sons, Jay Irving and wife Gwen of Kountze, Stephen Irving of Lumberton, Justin Irving and wife Kathy of San Diego, California, Mark Irving and wife Desta of Silsbee; brother, Virgil Schultze of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Bradley, Trenton, Brittany, Tonya, Chris, and Chad; thirteen great grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.

Van was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1964. The practical teaching that Jehovah would fulfill his purpose for this earth and mankind living on it appealed to her even as a child. She loved sharing this message with others as well as the value of applying God’s Word in everyday life.

She lived a rich full life and died looking forward to a resurrection in the promised paradise on this earth.

Van loved to work. She was an operating room assistant in the 60’s and most recently spent nearly 20 years as a custodian at the Lumberton Intermediate School. She loved interacting with the children and faculty.

Her laugh and genuine smile will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

There will be a Memorial Service at the Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness, 105 Turtle Creek in Silsbee, Texas on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 1:00pm.
