Frank L. “Cooter” Gore, 85, of Silsbee passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023. He was born on March 18, 1938 in Kountze, Texas to the late Walter Brown Gore and Corine (Jenkins) Gore.
Cooter married his wife Shirley on March 15, 1963 and they were married for 60 wonderful years. He retired from the state of Texas highway department and was the owner of Gore’s Dump Truck Service for around 40 years. He was also co-owner of one of Silsbee’s most treasured small businesses, Shirley’s Sno-Cones. He was also a member of North Hardin Baptist Church. Cooter enjoyed many hobbies including operating his heavy machinery and cooking for family and friends. He was a beloved husband, father, PaPa, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lisa Hicks; siblings, Francis Gore Baxter, Walter D. Gore, and Thomas Gore.
Cooter is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley Gore; son, Cheyenne Gore and wife Sue; grandchildren, Clinton Paine, Heather Richards and husband Jason, Megan Ester and husband Wade, Haley Hicks; Blaze Hicks; six great grandchildren; brother, Franklin Gore and wife Hazel; and numerous other family members and friends.
