Gary Edward Mathis Sr.

Gary Edward Mathis Sr., 70, of Evadale passed away Friday, January 27,
2023. He was born on February 26, 1952 in Silsbee, Texas to the late
Thomas Fuller Mathis and Alma Lucille Simmons Mathis.
Gary was a member of the Church of Christ of Silsbee (south side). 
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, being with family, going to
church, reading the bible, and gardening. His most treasured
accomplishments were being a member of the Lord's Church and having
grandchildren. Gary was such a loving, fun, and funny man who will be
deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alma Lucille Mathis and
Thomas Fuller Mathis; son, Gary Edward Mathis Jr.; brothers, Anthony
Wilson and Larry Arthur Wilson.
Gary is survived by his daughter, Mary Beth Mathis; grandchildren,
Samantha Mathis, Victoria Hurkmans, Elizabeth Hurkmans, Gary Edward
Mathis III, Kayze Tresbe Lanzuela, Sara Cumbay, Chris Authement, Ashley
Viator, Joel Jacoby Viator, Josh Pelt, Andrew Pelt, Jessica Pelt, Jessie
Pelt; great grandchildren, Gary Edward Mathis IV, Kaylee Hope Mathis,
Preston Cumbay, Rylan Cumbay, Lyliahna Faith Authement, Rayleigh Grace
