George Abel Wiess

George Abel Wiess, 83, of Silsbee passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020. He was born on January 15, 1937 in Houston, Texas to the late Mark William Wiess and Marie Kirckhoff Wiess.

George was a band teacher near Austin for nearly 20 years. He recieved his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Houston, his Master's Degree from the University of Texas, and his doctorate in music from Florida State Christain College.  He was a beloved educator, uncle, and friend and he will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother Mark Jerry Wiess.

George is survived by his nephew, Mark Wiess and wife Jill of Alvin; and great niece and nephews, Danielle, Dillon, and Nicholas Wiess, all of Alvin; and several cousins, other family members, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at Farmer Funeral Home Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 12PM with visitation two hours prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 2PM Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Forest Oaks Memorial Park near Austin.
