Herman Monroe Hinson Sr.

Herman Monroe Hinson Sr., 78, of Kountze, died Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Christus Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth Hospital, in Beaumont. Herman was born on Tuesday, November 26, 1946, in Leesville, Louisiana, to Fred Sr. and Ruby (Green) Hinson.

Herman was the owner and operator of Hinson Contractors for over 55 years, and put roofs on many houses and buildings throughout Hardin County and Southeast Texas. He enjoyed fishing, gambling, and especially working. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, and will always remain a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to anyone he ever met.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Mary Hinson; sons, Herman Hinson Jr. and his wife Betty Jo, Michael Hinson and his wife Sarah, Andrew Hinson and his wife Jessica, Joey Hinson, and Daniel Gilly and his wife Becky; daughters, Robin Hinson Williams and her husband Pee Wee, Lorrie Soffes and her husband Steven, and Cassandra Pipps; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Patsy Townsend and Vivica Moncrief; and brother, Wilburn Moncrief and his wife Jennie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Maurine Rodgers, and Helen Barge; and brothers, Fred Hinson Jr. and Jimmy Hinson.
