Iris Peterson

Iris Louise Peterson, 74, of Spurger, died on Friday, July 11, 2025 in Beaumont, Tx. She was born on Friday, August 4, 1950 in Fresno, California.

Iris was married to her husband, Corbin “Pete” Peterson, for 57 years. She was a strong, kind and selfless woman who gave to others without expecting anything in return. She had a magical way of making people feel seen and welcomed, pouring love, wisdom, food and comfort into those around her. She loved animals, fishing, gardening, the color purple and—most importantly—her family. Her spirit will live on in all those she touched.

Survivors include her husband Corbin “Pete” Peterson, of Spurger. Her daughter Shelly McGallion and her husband, Craig, of Spurger; son Danny Peterson and his fiancé, Kelli, of Spurger; Grandchildren, Chase, Kenzie, Austyn, Destiny, Shelby, Chloe, Dylan, Heaven, Nevaeh and Paxton; Great-grandchildren, Dawson, Blakely, Gracelyn, Kya, Remi, Koah, Dixie, Dallas, Tripp, Braxton, Cash, Dezlynn, Atlas, Hudson, Stetson; Brothers, Paul Bergeron (Brusley, Louisiana), George Smith (Redding, CA), Roy Smith (Redding, CA), Darrell Smith (Anderson, CA); Sisters, Lorie Hebert (Brusley, Louisiana), Nancy Alexander (Redding, CA), Gerrie Bergfelder (Bella Vista, CA), Robin Endsley (La Russell, Missouri). As well as numerous other loving relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice Bergeron and Roy Smith; brother, Tommy Smith; sisters, Theresa Bergeron, Penny Stowe, Tammy Smith, and Pamela Smith; and grandson Danny (little man) Peterson.
