James “Raymond” Burnett, 60, of Silsbee passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020. He was born in Woodville, Texas August 6, 1960 to the late James Hart and Madgeline Ida Burnett.
Raymond loved the outdoors. He loved anything to do with being outside such as hunting, fishing, trees, and motorcycle riding; he was a true country boy. If he could have lived on the Neches river, he would have in a heartbeat because that was his happy place. His family remembers him as a joking prankster who kept everyone laughing and on their toes. Raymond also loved to cook. He will be so missed!
Raymond is survived by his wife, Laurie Wales of Kirbyville; children, James Rodney Burnett of Liberty, Ryan Alan Burnett and fiancée Jennifer of Silsbee, Wyatt Dale Burnett of Silsbee; Marie Ann Soignet of Spurger, Sally Louise Adkerson of Fred, Robert Olan Burnett of Vidor; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Juan Olan Dunaway; sisters, Jamie Bates and Laura Beth Mouzon; and a brother, James Ray Burnett.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Affinity Hospice or their exceptional care of Raymond.
Cremation services were held under direction of Farmer Funeral Home.
