James Earl Lewis, 76, of Silsbee, died Friday, July 5, 2024 at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont. He was born July 19, 1947, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Oscar Junior and Elsie hazel (Wilburn) Lewis.
James was a and a proud United States Navy Veteran, but most of all, he was a child of God, Husband, Father, Pawpaw, Brother, and Uncle. James E. Lewis was a painter, firebug, craftsman, and had one heck of a sense of humor. He loved to tinker just as much as he loved to fish. He had an amazing singing voice, one we all enjoyed hearing and can still hear now. James enjoyed all the little things in life from going out with his wife and cutting a rug, raising children and all the things that come with that, to settling down in the floor and playing with grandbabies. He had an itch for the slot machines and was always determined to strike it rich mining for gold. He lived a humble life and was a happy soul. James loved to laugh and make others laugh; it was his favorite thing.
James Lewis was a strong, family man, one who was a hard worker and provider. James was many things to many people. A man that cannot be replaced and will forever be missed.
He is survived by his sister; brother; children; grandbabies; great grandbabies; and his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lewis, and his parents.
Mr. Lewis’ cremation arrangements are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home 415 N. 4th Street Silsbee, Tx. 77656
