Jane Fikes Obituary

Jane Marie Fikes of Evadale passed from this life Sunday, May 10, 2020. Visitation will be at Central Baptist in Evadale on May 12th 2020 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm A celebration of Her Life will be held 10:30am at Central Baptist Church in Evadale, TX  Wednesday, May 13, 2020  with by Brother Roger Hoogterp and Brother Ed Rawls officiating.

Jane (Janie) was born in Evadale May 14, 1939 to H.O. and Elma Hobbs. She lived her whole life in her beloved community where she owned and operated Town and Country Beauty shop. On June 19, 1956 she married the love of her life Glenn and together they welcomed their son the following year.

Janie loved the people of her community but especially the Children. If you were a kid and needed something she was there. The nursery at central Baptist church was always her happy place. She loved each and every child that came through and cherished the years watching them grow up. To say the least she will be missed.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years Glenn, Her son Ron and wife Beverly of Orange, her son from another mother Glenn Strutton and wife Janice of Wills Point, three Grandchildren Jennifer Willis of Orangefield, Christopher Fikes and wife Carla of Silsbee and Jason Fikes and wife Kandice of Orange, one sister Belinda Berry of Silsbee, Brother Jimmy Hobbs and Wife Sarah of Evadale, Her most cherished treasures of all her three great grandchildren Carson of Orangefield, Makenzie of Silsbee and Nathaniel of Silsbee. She also has a host of nieces and nephews.

Jane is preceded in heaven by her parents H.O. and Elma Hobbs, brother James H. (Buddy) Hobbs and her cherished grandson Tyler Glenn Fikes.

In Lieu of flowers she has requested that donations be made in her name to the nursery and her Sunday school class at Central Baptist Church.  

Pallbearers will be Ron Fikes, Glenn Strutton, Jimmy Hobbs, Christopher Fikes, Jason Fikes and Chuck Hobbs.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Carson Willis and Nathaniel Fikes.
