Jennie Faye (Spurlock) Buckner

Jennie Faye Spurlock Buckner 91, a loving wife and mother passed away peacefully February 7, at her daughter’s home. She was born November 5,1929 to Altie and Ulysses Spurlock of Fred, Tx.  She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Mallie, son Robert, and a grandson, two sisters, and a brother.  She is survived by sons Mallie Wayne and wife Judy of Lufkin, Ulysses (Cooter) and wife Janeann of Spurger, daughter Delores Roberts and husband Russell of Spurger, and daughter-in-law Lila Buckner of Spurger; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.    She was always ready, with a smile, to spend time with family and friends.  Always known for her kindness and easy going spirit. Her children and friends knew she was ready to go, whether it was on a vacation, camping, or shopping.  Fishing was always a fun time, as she admired her big fish as it flew from one side of the boat and back into the water on the other side.  MallieWayne says “Mom was a loving mom who always made time to take us swimming, or on an adventure.  Every birthday was special, our special day, with a party. To my mom who always kept us safe as little ones and was always glad to see us no matter how many friends we brought home with us. To a mom  I loved with all a son could, always a smile on her face and a song in her heart I love you Mom”.
