Jimmy Carl Norwood (79) of Silsbee passed away on September 1, 2021. He was born on June 29, 1942, to his parents, Thurman J. Norwood and Eva Maxine Norwood (Meeks) in Rayville, Louisiana.

We honor Jimmy’s sacrifice made to our great nation as he faithfully served in the United States Army. Jimmy would go on to practice dentistry in Silsbee from 1970 to 2015. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Silsbee and, more recently, Pinecrest Baptist Church. Jimmy was one of the founding members of The Master’s Men, a local Southern Gospel vocal group. He enjoyed painting and had many pieces exhibited at the Silsbee Ice House Museum. He also volunteered in different capacities for Silsbee ISD athletics for many years.
