John Norman Self

John Norman Self, 58 of Silsbee born May 23, 1964, in Kountze Texas went home to be with his lord June 11, 2022.

John was a loving son, brother, husband, father and friend. He worked for Exxon Mobil for twenty-nine years. He was a member of FUMC Silsbee and a proud member of the Boy Scout troop 88. John was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and loved fishing, hunting, and camping. He never missed a chance to sit around a fire to laugh and share stories. 

Jon is preceded in death by his Daddy, Jerry Dale Self, and grandparents, John D. and Ruby Self.

John is survived by his wife Lindsay of Silsbee; sons Harlan and Brian of Silsbee; mother Judy Self of Silsbee; sisters Cheryl Owens and husband Kevin of Silsbee, Rebekah Romans and husband Michael of Silsbee; brothers Paul Self and life-long partner Rebecca Porter of Silsbee, and Coleman Self of Silsbee. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. 

John will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers the family would like for donations to be made to the Boy Scout Troop 88 or First United Methodist Church of Silsbee, Tx.
