Juanita Hatton, age 56 of Spurger, passed away on Sunday, May 5th at her home after
a long battle with cancer. She was born on July 10, 1967, in Galveston, Texas, to Issac
and Laura (Loftin) Garsee.
Juanita is survived by her husband of 15 years, Kyle Hatton, of Spurger; sons Darren
Garsee and wife, Shandalon, of Fred, Cory Gardner of Fred, Chris Jenkins and wife,
Mandy, of Zavalla, and Halea Fant and husband, John, of Silsbee; special friend and
former daughter in law, Katherine Lindsey; 13 grandchildren; brothers Isaac Garsee Jr. and
Telo Garsee of Warren, and Brandon Garsee and wife, Serena, of Fred; sisters Linda
Messer and Michelle Moye of Warren; and a host of loyal companions and caregivers.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Karol Jane Garsee, and mother in
law Mary Ann Hatton.
Even though the battle was long, the amount of caregivers, loyal family members, and
close friends made the time worthwhile. She loved all of those that called or came to sit
endless hours with her, and they loved her in return. A very special thank you to them
for being there at all times and for showing her so much love, compassion, and
friendship.
Juanita was meek and humble, and could get in a quick joke when it was least expected
or a kind word to build hope. She was a homemaker, enjoyed working in her yard, and
keeping her house nice and tidy. She was easy to please with buggy rides, car shows,
camping, eating crawfish, and sitting in her rocking chair on the deck. Her most precious
hobby was reading the bible and Joyce Meyer’s books. Her life was not always easy,
but she rose above the obstacles and gave her life to Christ. Throughout her
treatments, she was an inspiration to others and was never afraid to speak of Jesus to
anyone willing to listen. Her life could be represented as, “Faith of a mustard seed.”
A gathering of Juanita’s family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral to
follow at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10th, 2024 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Her
internment will immediately follow at Fred Community Cemetery, in Fred.
